Saturator and collapse dynamics. VST3, AU and CLAP.
Do you always feel like you expected more from throwing a clipper/saturator on something. Like it just doesn't feel powerful enough? Me too.
Slursh is a saturator with a transient-triggered collapse stage. It rounds your signal with the clipping algorithm found in the depump control of SlushBus, then ducks the low and high bands independently, in time with the transients you feed it. Weight and harmonic thickness up front, rhythmic movement underneath. The result is the feeling that you're pushing something to it's absolute limit. Like the system cannot take it. It sounds awesome.
Two engines, in series.
Slush — saturation. A soft-clip that rounds the waveform toward a sine as you push it. A threshold, floor, and knee network blends the dry signal back in below a level you set, so quiet detail stays clean while louder material saturates.
Collapse — transient ducking. Slursh tracks the low-frequency energy of the signal. When it crosses a threshold, it ducks the low and high bands independently around a sweepable crossover, each with its own attack and release. The low band can also be driven toward a squared-off fundamental as it collapses.
The dry path stays phase-clean, so the dry/wet blend nulls cleanly and the Null button outputs only what Slursh adds. Useful for hearing the effect on its own.
